Add a Task or Subtask

If you realize you want to add another task to the Task List, use the Add Task button .

A subtask is a smaller part of a task. Use subtasks when you need to break tasks down into more manageable parts.To add a subtask, use the Add Subtask button .

To add a task:

  1. Click a task and then click the Add Task button, right-click a task and then click Add Task on the shortcut menu, or press the Insert key.

Project KickStart inserts a new blank row above the task you selected.

  1. Enter the text of the new task.

Project KickStart numbers the new task in the proper sequence.

To add a subtask:

  1. Click a task and then click the Add Subtask button, right-click a task and then click Add Task on the shortcut menu, or press the Insert key.

Project KickStart inserts a new blank row below the task you selected, and indents the new row to indicate it's a subtask.

  1. Enter the text of the new subtask.
  2. Project KickStart numbers the new subtask in the proper sequence.
