Import SalesForce Contacts via CSV to the People Library (Pro Users)

This feature is available only in Project KickStart Professional.

If you use SalesForce to maintain your contacts, you can use our new utility to import these contacts via CSV to the People Library.

To export SalesForce contacts to a CSV file:

  1. In Salesforce - Create a Salesforce report entitled "Salesforce Contacts Export for PKS People Library"
  2. In Step 2 of 5, selecting the report columns, be sure to include: First Name; Last Name; Phone; Email; and Account Name
  3. In Step 5 of 5, report criteria, select the appropriate View and use the Advanced Filters to select people who will be resources in your Project KickStart project.
  4. Run the report to see if it is giving the contacts that you want.
  5. If you need to change the report criteria, click Customize and make the changes.
  6. When you are satisfied with the report, click Export Details, and select Export File Format as Comma Delimited .csv
  7. Note the name of the report generated by Salesforce, because you will need this name when you import into the Project KickStart People Library

To import SalesForce contacts to the Project KickStart People Library:

  1. Be sure that you exit Project KickStart before running the Import Utility
  2. Run ImportCSVToPKS.exe, which is located in the Project KickStart application folder.
  3. Browse or type the Contacts CSV file (the path is My Documents\Project KickStart Projects folder by default)
  4. Browse or type the pks5lib.xdat file (default is the Project KickStart application folder)
  5. Click on Import
